The 29th Quadrennial Session of the CIE was successfully held in Washington, USA from 14 to 22 June, 2019. A 4-member MyCIE delegation consisting of Mr Narendren, Mr Glenn Tiong, Ms SY Lim & Dr Vineetha participated in the General Assembly, Conference and TC meetings. The General Scientific topics discussed in the conference were on Flicker and Integrated Lighting. The flicker is identified as an issue and it was advised that IEEE1789 NOT to be used as standard or to make decision. As for integrated lighting, CIES026 is already in place and the tutorial will focus on how light can be quantified and assessed for its ability to achieve important biological effects relevant for human health, performance and well-being, without depending on visual images. Mr Narendren also gave a short ppt presentation on the preparations of CIE 2021 Midterm Meeting in Penang (event details & proposed fees) in the General Assembly & at the Conference Plenary session and it was very well received among the attendees & CIE CB.
