Malaysia CIE (MyCIE) has successfully organised 5-Day Workshop on Lighting Design using DIALux from 6th to 10th April 2015 at Faculty of Engineering, Monash University. This workshop was sponsored by LM Lighting Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The speaker was Mr Vicente Steve L. Aries, a Philippines Licensed Electrical Engineer with more than 20 years experience in lighting design throughout the region. Some 31 participants attended the workshop. They were lighting manufacturers, electrical engineers, architectural designers, consultants, lecturers and university students.
Participants were educated on basic concepts of indoor & outdoor lighting design using Dialux 4.12 and Dialux Evo. At the end of the fifth day, the participants were invited to visit the lighting lab. During the visit, Dr Vineetha, Senior Lecturer of Monash University briefed the participants on the research activities, lab facilities and student’s experiments.
The workshop ended with presentation of certificates to all participants. All participants expressed their satisfaction with the workshop and gave high value of it. Evaluation comments by Mr Ahmad Najmi: “Best training for any software that I have experienced. Delivery of context & explanation was very good for all training session throughout 5 days”.
