The 3rd International LED & Display EXPO 2012, a trade exhibition was held from 29th – 31st August 2012 at Daegu Exhibition & Convention Centre (EXCO) in Daegu, Korea. In conjunction with the Expo, the World LED Standardisation Conference 2012 was organised by Korea LED Association (KLEDA) and LED-IT Fusion Technology Research Center on 30th August 2012 at EXCO. The theme of the conference was “To introduce and propose LED lights technologies worth global standardisation to IEC TC-34 and to promote their global spread”. In this event, an MOU has been signed between the Korea LED Association (KLEDA) and The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) together with four other associations. They are D&S LED Lighting Spread Association Japan (DLEDA), Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA), LED Products Manufacturer’s Association India (LEDMA) and European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC). The MOU aims to promote mutual cooperation, exchange of experiences and share information amongst LED industries and technologies in Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Europe and Korea. Mr C.T. Siew (Malaysia CIE Chairman) participated in the conference and presented a paper on LED Market Trends, Dissemination Policies & Standardisation Plan – Malaysia.
